Four Phase of Enterprise Mobile Application Lifecycle

Mobile application development is a procedure where varied software is developed for small and portable devices such as mobile phones like iPhone application development, tablets, personal digital assistants and enterprise digital assistants. These are either pre-installed during the manufacturing process or can be downloaded from the internet.

In today’s technological world, where the numbers of mobile applications are increasing day by day, development of mobile apps has become indispensable. A new, flexible, end-to-end lifecycle perspective approach is required towards mobile application development as it would ensure a better lifecycle and improved capabilities of the mobile application.

The Enterprise Mobile Application Lifecycle is very important as it creates a huge impact in the B2B and B2C industries. As such this process is an integral part of every mobile application as it increases its efficiency and effectiveness.

The process of mobile application development is a very complex method. It requires knowledge, skill, and experience. Steps involved in the development process are categorized into four main phases as below:

Phase 1:
The first step towards the development of an application is to gather ideas and views. These ideas should be categorized and placed under different heads. Ideas should be taken from all the people- internal as well as external. A team should be formed to this function.

This team must then sort all the ideas and take into consideration the best ones. The most feasible ideas should be shortlisted and should be approved by the higher authorities or a team of experts. The ideas should be selected on the basis of their compatibility with the technology to be used in the further processes.

Phase 2:
An initiation team should be formed to take the ideas and execute them in order to initiate the project. This team should focus only on the complexity and scope of the given work. Experts from the IT, Marketing & Legal sectors should be a part of this team in order to avoid future problems related to these sectors in particular.

The requirement for the correct functioning of the application must be developed by the team. The technology available should be kept in mind before the development of any application as technology is the main base that supports an application. Once all the features and requirements are decided or listed, the approval for the development and testing procedure must be taken.

Phase 3:
An Application and Testing team is one of the most important team to be formed during this entire process of Mobile Application Development. The team of experts and professionals should test the app. If ready it should be kept for further development. The testing of the application depends upon a lot of factors.

Hence the decision should be taken very carefully and wisely. The functioning of all the features must be ensured. Once this stage of testing and development is completed, only the last phase remains incomplete.

Phase 4:
This part of the project is carried out by the Mobile Application Transition team. The product, after approval by the stakeholders, is launched into the market. The team should focus on the success of the application by promoting and advertising the application launched. The team should carry the regular updates maintain the app.
